Women's and Men's Tennis Earn ITA Academic Honors

TEMPE, Ariz. - Both the Omaha women's and men's tennis teams earned ITA Academic honors earlier this week. They were tabbed All-Academic Teams while individual athletes were named ITA Scholar Athletes.
To be named an ITA Scholar Athlete, athletes must achieve a 3.5 GPA for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form. For All-Academic Team honors, the programs must achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or above, all student-athletes should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and all letterwinners should be factored in to the cumulative GPA.
This marks the eighth straight season the Omaha women's tennis team collected the All-Academic Team honors. In addition to the team award, all 11 team members were named ITA Scholar Athletes. Natalie Lorentz earned the honor for her fifth straight season. Madison Gallegos, Justine Linscott, Lillian Tiemeyer, Ines Absisan, Colby Kelley, Brooke Covington, and Addison Miller were all repeat honorees, while Rachel Osborn, Alexia Di Giulio, and Keegan VanPelt received first year honors.
Omaha women's tennis led the department this spring with a 3.80 GPA. Seven members were named to the Dean's List and one to the Chancellor's list.
The Omaha men's tennis team garnered ITA All-Academic Team honors for the second straight year. The Mavericks posted a 3.53 GPA. Ethan Henry, Davis Lawley, Hugo Piles Ballester, Alvaro Quintana, Jacob Weber, Yaswanth Mylavarapu, Todd Chen, and Cameron Luhring took home individual honors as ITA Scholar Athletes.
Omaha men's tennis had five athletes named to the spring Dean's List, while two earned Chancellor's List recognition.
