Men's Tennis Picked to Finish 4th in Summit League Preseason Poll

The Omaha Mavericks Men's Tennis team has been tabbed to finish tied for 4th place in the 2023 Summit League Preseason Poll. Full poll results are listed below.
"Although conference is a long way off, it's helpful for our team to see the preseason poll and where the conference expects us to finish," Omaha head coach Matt Barlow said. "I believe it will help us focus even more during our non-conference season to prepare for Summit play."
Sophomore racket, Mikhail Korkunov was named a Summit League Preseason Athlete to watch in today's poll as well.
The native of Gelendzhik, Russia garnered Athlete of the Week honors last season during a four-match winning streak. He finished 8-12 in singles action, including 5-3 at the No. 3 spot, 1-1 at No. 4 and 2-2 at No. 5, during the 2022 season. Korkunov went 5-6 last season in doubles with all five wins coming at the No. 1 spot with teammate Matt Hulme. The sophomore racket also posted an 8-3 singles record this fall.
"I'm excited for Misha (Korkunov) to be named Preseason Player to Watch. He has made multiple improvements from last season, and I know he is excited to get after it," Barlow said.
Omaha will meet North Dakota, Oral Roberts and Denver in Summit play this season.
