Volleyball selected to participate in NIVC

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Omaha volleyball has been selected to participate in the 2024 National Invitational Volleyball Championship, it was announced Sunday evening.

The Mavericks will face Lindenwood on Thursday, December 5 at 4:00 p.m. (CT) in the first round of the event hosted by DePaul in Chicago, Illinois. This is Omaha's second time participating in the NIVC.

Omaha has now qualified for postseason play in three-straight seasons under head coach Matt Buttermore after the Mavericks took part in the 2022 NIVC, facing Pacific in Portland, Ore., and the 2023 NCAA Championship where Omaha faced Kansas.

Omaha finished the regular season with a 14-2 mark in Summit League action and ranks in the top 100 among Division I institutions based on RPI. The Mavericks picked up three victories against top 100 RPI teams in 2024. Overall, Omaha concluded the conference tournament with a 16-12 record. Omaha has won four of its last five matches.
