MACOMB, Ill. – Omaha women's soccer (3-4-2) defeated Western Illinois 7-1 Sunday morning, setting the program record for most goals in a single match in the Mavericks' Division I history.

Just 80 seconds into the game against the former Summit League foe, sophomore forward Charley Kort (Lincoln, Neb.) connected with junior defender Emma Hampton (Urbandale, Iowa), who fired Omaha ahead with her first goal of the 2025 campaign. In the third minute, freshman forward Kendall Dobberstein (Omaha, Neb.) stretched the lead to two with a strike to the center of the net.

In the first half, three Mavericks scored their first career goals. Junior defender Grace Bartlam (Rosemount, Minn.) in the 18th minute and senior forward Kayla Hassler (Lincoln, Neb.) added her first in the 35th.

Right before halftime, Western Illinois committed a foul in the box and sophomore midfielder Sammie Edwards (Denver, Colo.) converted the penalty for Omaha's fifth goal of the match and the first of her career.

The Mavs entered halftime with a 5-0 advantage, one goal shy of tying its program record of six goals in a single match.

Omaha wasted little time after the break, netting its sixth goal in the 50th minute. Bartlam sent the ball to Hampton, who scored her second of the morning to tie the program single-match record for the second time this season.

Three minutes later, graduate forward Payten Ivins (West Haven, Utah) made history with her third goal of the season, giving the Mavericks its seventh of the contest, breaking the team single-game high.

In the 70th minute, Abigail Schilling put Western Illinois on the board, though the Maverick lead stood at six.

Freshman defenders Cadence Dobberstein (Omaha, Neb.) and Selena Di Luciano (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) also made their collegiate debuts during the match.

The Mavericks out-shot Western Illinois 30-4 overall, including an 18-2 advantage in shots-on-target.

Omaha returns home after four games on the road, facing off against (RV) Colorado State on Friday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. CT at Caniglia Field, live on the Summit League Network.
