AMHERST, Mass. — The Omaha men's soccer team (6-3-3, 1-0-1 Summit) secured a 3-0 shutout over UMass (4-6-3, 0-1-1 Summit) on Saturday afternoon at Rudd Field.
Three different Mavericks found the back of the net, while goalkeeper Kamy Ndione recorded six saves to preserve the shutout.

Omaha wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as Maguire Perkins opened the scoring just 2:29 into the match. Mikey Stukenholtz assisted on the goal, marking Perkins' fourth of the season and giving the Mavericks an early 1-0 advantage.

The Mavericks maintained their one-goal lead heading into halftime despite UMass holding a 5-4 advantage in shots through the opening 45 minutes.

Omaha extended its lead in the 60th minute when Italo Jenkins converted a penalty kick for his fifth goal of the season, putting the Mavericks ahead 2-0.

Brett Perkins sealed the victory in the 82nd minute, converting Omaha's second penalty kick of the afternoon for his team-leading sixth goal of the season and extending the Mavericks' lead to 3-0.

Ndione played all 90 minutes in net, turning away six shots, including five in the second half, to secure the clean sheet. UMass goalkeeper Dean Linden finished with four saves.

The victory improved Omaha's conference record to 1-0-1 as the Mavericks remain unbeaten through their first two Summit League matches.
