Herold, Hochstein Named All-Region
Tight end Zac Herold and offensive lineman Ben Hochstein have been named to the Daktronics All-Northwest Region football team by a vote of the area's sports information directors. Four other players from the NCC champion Mavericks have been named to the second team.
Herold, a 2005 All-American, is a 6-5, 261-pound senior from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He caught 23 passes for 358 yards this season and was named to the all-NCC team a third straight year.
Hochstein, a 6-4, 286-pound junior from Hartington, Neb., was the NCC's most valuable offensive lineman. Hochstein anchored an offensive line that helped the Mavericks lead NCAA II in rushing this season, averaging 282.3 yards per game.
Junior quarterback Zach Miller, Wahoo, Neb., and senior tailback Kyle Kasperbauer, St. Paul, Neb., were named to the second team offense. The second team defense included senior linebackers Bobby Danenhauer, Omaha, and Kenny Onatolu, Papillion, Neb.
