Naig Earns 4th Wrestler of the Week Honor
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- For the fourth time this season, 174-pound J.D. Naig has been named the North Central Conference wrestler of the week for his performances in the Mavericks' two duals last week against Augusburg and Dana.
Naig, a senior from Emmetsburg, Iowa, earned a 10-2 major decision over No. 3-ranked Robbie Gotreau of Augsburg and pinned Josh Ghobadpoor of Dana at 3:21. It was only the fourth loss of the season for Gotreau.
With the two wins, Naig improved to 33-7 on the season and is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation.
