UNO Hosts Augustana in Regular Season Finale
The University of Nebraska at Omaha wrestling team will close out the regular season on Wednesday, Feb. 14 when they host Augustana at 7 p.m. in the Sapp Fieldhouse.

The Mavericks are 5-5 on the season and 1-1 in the North Central Conference. Nebraska-Omaha is ranked No. 3 in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association top 20 poll released on Feb. 7. Seven Mavs are ranked among the top eight in individual rankings.
Four Mavericks are ranked No. 1 in their respective weight class, including: Cody Garcia (125), Todd Meneely (149), Ross Taplin (165), and JD Naig (174). Jacob Marrs (197) is ranked second, Sim Bribieseca (141) is ranked fourth, and Tony Lewis (285) is seventh.
The Coach
Mike Denney is in his 28th season as the UNO head coach. The Dakota Wesleyan graduate has a 267-106-5 career mark. He has twice been named the NCAA II National Coach of the Year and led the 1991, 2004, 2005, and 2006 Mavs to NCAA II national championships.
Last Week
Fourth-ranked Minnesota State won seven of 10 matches as MSU handed the University of Nebraska at Omaha their third-straight loss, 27-9, last Friday night in North Central Conference wrestling action at the Taylor Center.
Top-ranked Todd Meneely (149) and JD Naig (174) and second-ranked Jacob Marrs (197) were the lone Mavericks to pick up victories in the dual.
In a battle of the two top-ranked 149-pound wrestlers in the nation, Meneely edged MSU's Jason Rhoten, 6-5, to put the Mavericks on the scoreboard after
UNO dropped the first three matches of the night. Meneely remained perfect in duals at 10-0 while upping his overall record to 28-2.
Naig improved to 36-7 on the season and 10-0 in duals with a decisive 7-3 win over Tim Matheson.
Marrs earned a 6-3 decision over Ben Janike to improve to 32-5 and 10-0 in duals.
