
Rankin Leads UNO To Second Win at Crossover

Aberdeen, S.D. -- Senior outside hitter Jenny Rankin blasted a team-high 11 kills as the University of Nebraska at Omaha volleyball team cruised to their second-straight victory at the North Central Region Crossover with a 3-0 (30-25, 30-27, 30-26) win over Winona State Friday night, Sept. 10, at the Barnett Center on the Northern State University campus. Earlier in the day, the Mavericks swept Northern State 3-0 (30-25, 32-30, 30-11). The Mavericks are now 7-3 on the season
Rankin added five blocks and three digs in the victory. Senior outside hitter Amy McLeay registered a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs. Junior libero Chelsea Miller led the Maverick defensive effort with 19 digs.
The Mavericks dominated in nearly every statistical category, including a .159 to .049 advantage in hitting percentage and a 57-42 edge in digs.
Nebraska-Omaha will conclude the Crossover on Saturday, Sept. 11, with a 2 p.m. match against Bemidji State.
Note: The North Central Region Crossover pits teams from the North Central Conference against squads from the Northern Sun Conference. The two conferences comprise the NCAA Division II North Central Region.
