Mavericks End Road Slate This Weekend

Nebraska-Omaha will go on the road once again this weekend, facing North Dakota in a North Central Conference match in Grand Forks on Friday at 4 p.m. The Mavericks will then play the University of Mary on Saturday morning at 11 in a non-conference match, also in Grand Forks, to conclude their regular season road schedule.
The Records
UNO maintained its No. 1 ranking in the latest NSCAA/adidas poll and is 14-0-1 on the season overall and 8-0-1 in the NCC. North Dakota will bring records of 8-7-2 and 4-3-2 into the match. Mary is 6-8-3 on the season.
The Series
UNO leads North Dakota 9-4-0 all-time, after recording a 3-0 win in Omaha on Sept. 24. This will be the first-ever meeting between UNO and Mary.
The Coach
Don Klosterman is in his eighth season as the UNO head coach. Klosterman, a 1974 graduate of Benedictine, has a 138-26-5 mark and is the only coach the Mavericks have ever had. He has twice been named the NSCAA Coach of the Year, in 2002 and 2005.
Last Week
UNO went on the road and posted a 2-0 win at St. Cloud State Saturday, with first-half goals by Amber Richardson and Beth McGill just 3:15 apart. On Sunday, the Mavericks had their 14-match winning streak end in a 1-1 tie at Minnesota State, Mankato. McGill scored her 14th goal of the season to tie the game at 65:02.
Next Week
The Mavericks return to Ak-Sar-Ben Field to host their final two regular season matches. Minnesota Duluth will be the foe on Oct. 27 at 3 p.m. and Minnesota State visits on Oct. 29 at 1 p.m. on Senior Day.
Maverick Notes...
* Senior forward Beth McGill now has 50 goals and 25 assists, making her the school's career-leader in goals and points with 125. McGill leads the team in scoring with 14 goals and 6 assists for 34 points.
* The Mavericks had won 21consecutive matches dating back to last season before last week's tie.
* UNO has matched last year's total of 11 shutouts. The school record for a season is 16 in 2002.
* Goalkeeper Ellen Petersen is second in career shutouts with 11.
