WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The University of Nebraska at Omaha volleyball team suffered a heartbreaking 3-2 (25-16, 20-25, 25-16, 23-25, 15-11) loss to Minnesota State-Moorhead in the University of Central Missouri Challenge Saturday at the UCM Multipurpose Building.
UNO was led by junior middle blocker #Ellen Thommes# who recorded 16 kills on .351 hitting, to go along with a match-high six blocks.
Junior outside hitter #Sara Kampschnieder added 14 kills and four digs. Junior Kelli Goeser# notched her fourth double-double of the year with 12 kills and 11 digs.
Junior #Kayla Jansen and freshman Angie Reicks# combined for 54 digs to pace the Maverick defensive effort.
The Dragons were led by Laura Tvrdik's 20 kills on .545 hitting. Defensively, MSUM's Calla Oftedahl produced a match-high 32 digs.
The Mavericks will conclude the tournament with a 2 p.m. match Saturday against Southeastern Oklahoma State.
