Maverick Duo Garners All-MIAA Recognition

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Senior outside hitter Kayla Uhing was named to the All-MIAA Third Team while sophomore outside hitter Natalie Ebke was an honorable mention all-conference pick, the league office announced Wednesday. It marks the first annual MIAA honors for both student-athletes.
Uhing was named to the third team after averaging 3.14 kills per set this season, which ranked fifth in the MIAA, and 2.82 digs per game. Uhing, who started all 32 matches, had a team-leading 16 double-doubles in her senior year and tallied 15 or more kills on 11 occasions. She hit her career high of 18 kills three times and recorded a career-high 23 digs in an upset of Truman on Senior Night. Uhing also put up a career-best five blocks and had three service aces against Northwest Missouri State, both career marks.
Ebke finished her second season as a Maverick with 2.86 kills and 2.97 digs per set. She achieved career highs of 23 digs, 19 kills and three blocks this season while ranking sixth in the MIAA for service aces (0.31 per set). Ebke totaled nine double-doubles for the year and had 17 contests with double-figure kill totals, including seven matches with 15 or more.
