Michigan State Edges Mavericks, 5-2

OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO men's tennis team fell to Michigan State, 5-2, Sunday night at Hanscom Brandeis Tennis Center.
The Mavericks stand at 5-15 heading into their final match of the season against Bradley Friday night at Koch Tennis Center. The Spartans improved to 11-12. Michigan State lost at Nebraska earlier Sunday before traveling to Omaha to play the Mavericks.
The Spartans won all three doubles matches to take the doubles point to begin the match.
UNO's two team points came courtesy of victories by Eric McKnight at No. 4 singles and Carlos Ramos Salazar at No. 5 singles. McKnight defeated Harry Jadun, 6-4, 5-7, 10-6, to improve to 6-8 on the season, the best winning percentage of any Maverick this spring. Ramos Salazar won when Will Davis was forced to retire from the No. 5 singles match midway through the second set with an injury. Ramos Salazar has seven singles wins this season, the most on the team.
UNO and Bradley are set to play Friday at 6 p.m. at Koch Tennis Center, though that match may be moved indoors pending the weather.
