LOGAN, Utah – The Omaha women's soccer team lost to Utah State, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Chuck and Gloria Bell Soccer Field.
The loss drops the Mavericks to 1-2 on the season. They lost to Weber State, 3-1, on Friday in the first of three straight road games.
Utah State took the lead in the 35th minute when Jessica Brooksby beat UNO goalie Meaghan Clark for her first goal of the year.
The Aggies doubled their lead in the 43rd minute when another shot by Brooksby ricocheted home.
Utah State added to its lead in the second half when Taryn Rose scored on a header that deflected in off the post in the 65th minute.
Meaghan Clark started the game in goal for the Mavericks, her first action of the season. She allowed one goal on three shots before being replaced in the 35th minute by Katlyn Schochenmaier. Schochenmaier allowed two goals and made five saves.
UNO was outshot 25-7 and 10-2 in shots on goal.
The Mavericks will finish their three-game road trip at Northern Illinois on Friday, Sept. 5 before returning home to host New Mexico State on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 11 a.m.
