Mavs Travel to Colorado

The Omaha women's soccer team travels to Colorado this weekend for a pair of games. On Friday, the Mavericks play a neutral site game against College of Charleston in Fort Collins, Colo. at 2:30 p.m. (CT). Then on Sunday, UNO take on Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo. at 1 p.m.
The Teams
Omaha (2-3, 0-0 Summit League) is coming off a 1-1 weekend with a 1-0 loss against Northern Illinois last Friday and a 6-2 win over New Mexico State on Sunday. Chelsi Rohloff and Anna Sibson each had two goals and Courtney Neville had a goal and two assists to lead the Omaha women's soccer team to a 6-2 win over New Mexico State on Sunday afternoon at Caniglia Field. Haley Shelton picked up her first win in the UNO goal, making seven saves on nine shots to improve to 1-1-0. Rohloff leads the Mavericks this season with three goals and an assist. Sibson has two goals and three assists this season. Courtney Neville and Lydia Holtmann each have a goal and two assists for Omaha. Haley Shelton is 1-1 in goal with a .750 save percentage in two games.
College of Charleston (2-4, 0-0 CAA) has dropped four straight matches after opening the year with two straight wins. The Cougars hosted the College of Charleston Cup last weekend. Charleston was defeated 3-0 by Illinois on Friday and 2-1 by Jacksonville on Sunday. Sarah Cardamone leads the Cougars with three goals and two assists. Mary Kate Bowers and Hannah Huizenga each have two goals on the season.
Northern Colorado (3-3) went 2-0 at the Falcon Invitational last weekend. The Bears defeated Air Force 2-1 in double overtime on Friday and defeated Southeast Missouri State 1-0 on Sunday. Kassy Castillo leads Northern Colorado with two goals and an assist. Teammate Juliana Grover has two goals.
Series History
UNO and College of Charleston will meet for the first time this weekend. The Mavericks and Northern Colorado will be meeting for the tenth time. Omaha trails in the all-time series 3-6.
Last Time Out
Omaha, Neb. – Four different scored goals as the Omaha women's soccer team defeated New Mexico State 6-2 on Sunday afternoon at Caniglia Field. The Mavericks improved to 2-3-0 this season and in the process, snapped a three-game losing streak.
The Mavericks opened the scoring in the 14th minute when Chelsi Rohloff knocked in a cross from Nyoke Dumba for her second goal of the season. Anna Sibson boosted the Mavs' lead to 2-0 when she knocked in a shot off the crossbar for her first goal of the year. Courtney Neville knocked home a Sibson cross to give UNO a 3-0 lead. Rohloff picked up her second goal of the game when she collected a pass from Lydia Holtmann, cut around the goalkeeper and drilled a shot into the empty net in the 49th minute. Ali Engler scored off a breakaway, and Sibson got her second goal a little more than a minute later to make it 6-1. Sibson led all players with five points.
Haley Shelton picked up her first win in the UNO goal, making seven saves on nine shots to improve to 1-1-0. The Mavericks led 21-11 in shots and 12-9 in shots on goal. They also had a 12-2 edge in corner kicks.
