Mavericks to Play Missouri State and Saint Louis

The Omaha women's soccer team travels to Missouri this week for a pair of games. On Thursday, the Mavericks travel to Springfield, Mo. for a game against Missouri State at 7:00 p.m. Then on Saturday, UNO takes on Saint Louis University at 4:00 pm. in St. Louis, Mo.
The Teams
Omaha (2-6-0, 0-0-0 Summit League) is coming off a heartbreaking 2-1 double overtime loss to in-town rival Creighton. Kyla Booker scored a goal in the 23rd minute off a Chelsi Rohloff cross to put UNO up 1-0. The lead would stand until the 88th minute when Creighton would tie the score up at 1-1. The Bluejays would score the winner in the 102nd minute. Haley Shelton would have six saves, while Booker and Rohloff led the team with three shots each. Chelsi Rohloff leads the team with four goals and ten points. Rohloff also has two assists. Anna Sibson and Courtney Neville each have three assists. Sibson has two goals on the season, while Neville has one. Lydia Holtmann, Kyla Booker, Hannah Wampler, and Ali Engler have each scored goals for the Mavericks.
Missouri State (3-5-1, 0-0-0 Missouri Valley) split a pair of games over the weekend. On Friday night, the Bears lost a 1-0 decision to Arkansas-Little Rock. Goalkeeper Laura Ketzer made four saves and faced 11 shots. The Bears outshot the visitors 17-11. On Sunday, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville scored the opening goal in 24 seconds against Missouri State. MSU answered with goals in the 12th, 45th, and 49th minute to win 3-1. Molly Brewer scored two goals off assists from Kelsey Fouch and Molly Huber scored the third. Overall, Molly Brewer and Molly Huber share the team lead with five goals apiece. Brewer also has four assists on the year. Brooke Zimerman has two goals and an assist. Kelsey Fouch leads the team with five assists. Goalkeepers Jessica Perry and Laura Ketzer have combined for a 3-5-1 record and two shut-outs. Perry is 2-3-1 overall with a .710 save percentage and a 1.50 goals against average. Ketzer is 1-2 overall with a .619 save percentage and a 2.49 goals against average.
Saint Louis (4-5-0, 0-0 Atlantic 10) split a pair of games over the weekend. On Friday night, the Billikens defeated Illinois-Chicago 4-2. Lindsay Elking tallied two goals and an assist to lead SLU in the win. Cristina Rodriguez contributed a goal and an assist for the Billikens (4-4), while Danielle Manning registered her first collegiate goal. On Sunday, Saint Louis dropped a 2-0 decision on the road to Western Michigan. Cristina Rodriguez and Kirsten Clemens each had two shots to lead SLU. Lindsay Elking and Kirsten Clemens lead the team with four goals each. Elking has three assists, while Clemens has two. Tori Marshall has three goals on the year. Goalkeeper Hanna Benben has started all nine games and has a 4-5 record. Benben has a .750 save percentage and a 1.41 goals against average.
Series History
UNO and Saint Louis University will meet for the first time this weekend. The Mavericks and Missouri State will be meeting for the third time. The Mavericks trail in the all-time series 0-1-1. Last year the two teams played to a 1-1 draw in Omaha.
Last Time Out
OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha lost a 2-1 double overtime match to in-town rival Creighton University (8-1) on Sunday evening in front of 1,334 fans at Caniglia Field.
Omaha (2-6) struck first in the 23rd minute when Kyla Booker headed home a cross from Chelsi Rohloff. The Mavericks outshot the Bluejays 9-5 in the opening half.
The Mavericks had a 1-0 lead in the closing moments of regulation, before Creighton scored the equalizer. Lauren Sullivan knocked home a pass from Emily Roll to tie the game at 1-1 at the 88:25 mark.
Neither team scored in the first overtime. Creighton scored the game winning goal at the 101:57 mark of the game when Sullivan headed home a cross by Roll.
Kyla Booker and Chelsi Rohloff each had three shots (two on goal) to lead UNO. Courtney Neville and Marin Dregelid each had two shots.
Haley Shelton made six saves in the loss.

Omaha opens conference play next weekend. The Mavericks travel to Vermillion, South Dakota to play the University of South Dakota at 4:00 pm. on Friday, October 3. Omaha then travels to Denver on Sunday, October 5 to play Denver University at 1:00 p.m. (CT) in Denver, Colo.
