
Rohloff Propels Mavericks Past Drake, 2-1

OMAHA, Neb. – Powered by a pair of Chelsi Rohloff goals, the Omaha women's soccer team defeated Drake on Friday evening, 2-1.
The Mavericks improved to 2-2-2 on the season, while the Bulldogs dropped to 2-5-0 overall.
The first half saw Omaha be the aggressor as they took nine shots compared to Drake's three. The Mavericks offense would strike first as senior Courtney Neville played a beautiful pass to Chelsi Rohloff. Rohloff got off a quick shot that beat Bulldog goalkeeper Brooke Dennis in the 43rd minute.
In the second half, Rohloff got back on the score sheet in the 48th minute. Lydia Holtmann played a ball from midfield to Ava Doetsch near the penalty area. Doetsch's pass found Rohloff at the top of the box. Rohloff beat a Drake defender and took a shot that got by the Bulldogs' Haley Morris for a 2-0 lead.
Bulldog junior Kayla Armstrong cut the Omaha lead in half in the 87th minute of action. Armstrong's shot hit off the crossbar and bounced into the goal.
Rohloff led all players, posting six shots (three on goal). Hannah Wampler added two shots (both on goal). Armstrong led the Bulldogs with three shots (all on goal), while Linda Fiorito added two shots.
In goal, Katlyn Schochenmaier continued to shine for Omaha. Schochenmaier, the reigning Summit League Defensive Player of the Week, faced nine shots and made six saves. Two Drake goalkeepers combined to make five saves.
