Field Set for Summit League Volleyball Championship

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Omaha volleyball team heads to the 2017 Summit League Championship, set for Nov. 17-19 at Hamilton Gymnasium in Denver, Colo. The Mavericks went 10-17 (7-7 Summit League) during the regular season, clinching the fifth seed for the tournament. They face No. 4 seed North Dakota State Friday at 4 p.m. (CT).

Denver (21-5, 12-2) earned the top seed for the fourth consecutive year, while Oral Roberts (14-12, 11-3) will have the No. 2 seed. Both teams earned a quarterfinal bye and begin play on Saturday.

Friday's first quarterfinal at 4 p.m. CT will pit No. 4 North Dakota State (18-8, 9-5) and fifth-seeded Omaha. The second quarterfinal between No. 3 South Dakota (16-10, 10-4) and No. 6 Fort Wayne (12-18, 4-10) will begin at approximately 7 p.m. CT.

Denver will play the winner of NDSU and Omaha in Saturday's semifinals at 4 p.m. CT, followed by ORU facing the winner of USD/Fort Wayne at approximately 7 p.m. CT.

The tournament concludes with Sunday's championship match at 3 p.m. CT. The match will be broadcast live on Altitude and ESPN3, and the winner claims the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
