OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's soccer team wrapped up non-conference play with a 3-1 win over Rockhurst on Sunday evening at Caniglia Field.

With the win, the Mavericks improved to 3-6-1 on the season, while the Hawks dropped to 5-3.

The first goal of the match came in the 26th minute as senior Carlie Cook played a corner kick into the box. Cook's corner found the head of junior Marin Dregelid, who headed it past Rockhurst keeper Rosie Breheny at the 25:47 mark.

Omaha added to its lead in the 68th minute. A corner kick from junior Emily Romero found its way into the box, where junior Susie Dineen headed it over the outstretched arms of Maggie Forbes to give the Mavericks a 2-0 lead at the 67:27 mark.

Senior Natalie Johnson put her name on the scoring sheet with a goal during the 75th minute. Sophomore Sophia Roux played a ball that split two Rockhurst defenders allowing Johnson to run onto the pass. Johnson gathered the pass and placed her shot into the lower right corner for a 3-0 lead.

Rockhurst's Mackenzie Moore cut the Hawks deficit in the 86th minute. Moore lofted a shot from 25-yards over the head of Omaha's Maggie Tulay.

• Haley Johnson started in goal and played 82 minutes for UNO. Johnson made four saves and did not allow a goal.

"I was happy with how we did tonight. We were focused and came out and performed well. We put on a very professional performance this evening.

How important was setting a tone in tonight's game as you enter Summit League play on Thursday?
"I told the team this was our last test before starting Summit League play, so it was important for us to come out and show that we are going to be able to compete on Thursday. That is a massive game for us, so it was important for us to come out with the right attitude and mentality tonight."
