LaVigne Tabbed Defensive Player of the Week

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Junior defender Margaret LaVigne earns her first Summit League Defensive Player of the Week accolade of the season, the league office announced Tuesday.

LaVigne was a part of a defensive unit that held the defending Summit League champions South Dakota State to two straight shutouts. The Jackrabbits haven't suffered back-to-back shutouts against conference opponents since the 2014 season. They also haven't been shutout by a conference opponent since the 2018 season.

"Margaret had an incredible weekend, not only individually, but as a leader for our team," said head coach Tim Walters. "More importantly our entire group, including Jordyn West, Kaitlyn Guhl, Grace Thede, Brylie Meyer and Grace Crockett,  worked so hard over the course of weekend to help two goalkeepers playing their first games get their first career shutouts."
The Saint Louis native played two complete games on the pitch logging 220 minutes. She fired off one shot in the action.

This marks LaVigne's second career Defensive Player of the Week honor.
