Five Mavericks Tabbed CoSIDA Academic All-District

OMAHA Neb. - Five Omaha women's soccer players earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors this week. Grace Thede, Mia Reedtz Rehde Olesen, Emilie Erland, Reagan Bourgeois, and Jordyn West are all first time honorees of the award.
The 2022 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.
Thede started 18 matches this year before being sidelined with a season-ending injury. She logged 1,480 minutes, which included nine matches at a full 90 minutes. Thede tallied an assist vs. St. Thomas and helped Omaha to five shutouts this season.
In the classroom, Thede holds a 4.0 GPA and will graduate with her medical humanities degree this spring.
Reedtz made 19 appearances in goal this season for Omaha. In nearly 1,3000 minutes played, Reedtz made 47 saves and posted a 1.25 goals against average. She made a season-high eight saves against Air Force back on Sept. 18.
The junior goalkeeper boasts a 3.85 GPA as a neuroscience major.
This season, Erland finished with seven points on three goals and one assist. She most recently scored the game winner in the Summit League Quarterfinals vs North Dakota on Oct. 28 helping Omaha advance in the post season. Erland also netted the game winner vs. Western Illinois on Oct. 16, while her first goal of the year came at Lindenwood on Aug. 21.
Erland has a 3.95 GPA and is pursuing her degree in civil engineering.
Bourgeois posted two assists this season over 22 appearances. She notched those against Oklahoma State and Kansas City. Bourgeois finished the year with 18 shots with five on goal.
In the classroom, Bourgeois has a 4.0 GPA as an electrical engineering major.
West is the final Maverick to earn the honor. She started all 22 matches for Omaha and logged nearly 2,000 minutes on the pitch this season. She played a full match all but one time and holds the program's all-time minutes record played in a single-season at 1,972. She surpassed the previous record set by Margaret LaVigne in 2018.
As a kinesiology major, West holds a 3.90 GPA.
