Mavs Explode for Six Goals In Win Against Yale
Sep 10, 2026 | Men's Soccer
OMAHA – The Omaha men's soccer team (3-1-2) dominated Yale (1-3-0) in a 6-0 thrashing Thursday night at Caniglia Field. Omaha's six goals were the program's most since scoring seven against Chicago State on Sept. 9, 2023.
After a quiet first 10 minutes, Mikey Stukenholtz and Jeppe Runge recorded back-to-back great looks at goal but were unable to convert. The Mavs continued to apply pressure over the next 30 minutes, recording six shots.
Omaha finally broke through when Italo Jenkins got behind the defense and into the box but was held up by a Yale defender. A penalty kick and red card were assessed, and Jenkins buried the penalty kick for his first goal of the season and 10th career goal.
It didn't take long for the Mavs to strike in the second half, as Ian Silva dished off a beautiful ball to Maguire Perkins, who scored his second goal of the season. Silva recorded his second assist of the season.
The Bulldogs got a good look in the 69th minute, but Kamy Ndione recorded his fifth save of the match to keep Yale off the board. Ndione posted his third clean sheet of the season and tied his season high with five saves.
In the 75th minute, Runge converted his seventh shot of the match for his first goal as a Mav, giving Omaha a commanding lead. The Mavs added another goal off a corner kick, as Austin Kaiser played the ricochet perfectly and headed the ball into the back of the net for his first career goal.
The Mavs added two more goals in the final two minutes, both set up by Stukenholtz. He broke away from the defense and dished the ball off to Kaiser, who easily put it in the net for his second goal of the night.
Twenty-seven seconds later, Stukenholtz broke away from the defense again, but this time went coast to coast and scored himself for his third goal of the season.
The Mavs will be back in action Sunday against Saint Mary's at 1 p.m. for their Pups on the Pitch match. Fans are encouraged to bring their furry friends to Sunday's match.
