North Dakota Defeats Mavericks in Four

Omaha, Neb. -- Led by Emily Tuve's 19 kills and 19 digs, the visiting North Dakota Sioux defeated Nebraska-Omaha 3-1 (30-24, 30-17, 28-30, 30-19) in North Central Conference volleyball action Friday night, Oct. 31, in the Sapp Fieldhouse. Tuve led four Sioux players in double-figure kills.
Junior Amy McLeay recorded her 17th double-double of the season, leading the Mavericks with 15 kills and 15 digs. Junior Alyssa Matthes added 11 kills, while junior Julia McConahay finished with 10 kills. Junior Jenny Rankin registered a team-high 23 digs, to go along with nine kills.
North Dakota outhit the Mavericks .269 to .135 in the match, while holding a 13 to 6 advantage in team blocks.
The Mavericks, who dropped their fifth-straight match, fell to 10-16 on the season and 1-9 in the NCC. North Dakota improved to 17-9 overall and 7-4 in the NCC.
Nebraska-Omaha will host 11th-ranked North Dakota State on Saturday night, Nov. 1 in the Mavericks' final home match of the 2003 season.
