Mavs Cruise To Victory at St. Cloud State

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Paced by a .324 team hitting percentage and a season-high 14 service aces, the University of Nebraska at Omaha volleyball team cruised to a 30-14, 30-25, 30-16 win at St. Cloud State Saturday afternoon to improve to 9-4 overall on the season and 2-0 in the North Central Conference.
Junior outside hitter Christina Reicks collected six of the team's service aces, a career high. She also hit a career-high .474 with 10 kills, only one error in 19 attempts, while adding nine digs. Reicks has now recorded double-figure kills in six-straight matches.
Senior outside hitter Ashley Freeman blasted a team-high 15 kills combined with two blocks. Senior setter Christie Johnson turned in another solid performance with 36 assists, three kills, and two service aces.
The Mavericks were led defensively be senior libero Chelsea Miller's 14 digs and two service aces.
The Mavericks, who have not had a home match since Aug. 27, will return to the Sapp Fieldhouse next Friday, Sep. 30 when they host Minnesota State, Mankato beginning at 7 p.m.
