UNO Hosts Upper Iowa, Travels to South Dakota

The 19th-ranked UNO Maverick volleyball team (17-6, 5-4 NCC) will host Upper Iowa (5-23) in a 7 p.m. non-conference match on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at the Sapp Fieldhouse. The Mavericks, who have won six out of their last seven matches, will then travel to Vermillion, S.D. for a 4 p.m. meeting with South Dakota (4-20, 0-10 NCC) on Saturday, Oct. 28.

The Mavericks are currently 17-6 on the season and 5-4 in the North Central Conference after avenging an earlier-season loss to North Dakota last Saturday. UNO defeated the Sioux 3-1 (28-30, 30-28, 30-23, 30-22) and has now won six out of their last seven matches.

In the CSTV/AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25 poll released on Oct. 16, Nebraska-Omaha was ranked No. 19. Minnesota Duluth is the only other NCC school ranked as they enter this week's competition at No. 4. The Mavericks are ranked No. 3 in the latest NCAA II North Central Region rankings. The top eight teams in each of the nation's eight regions will advance to the NCAA II Tournament.
