Reicks Earns NCC Defensive Player of the Week Hono

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Outside hitter Christina Reicks has been named the Defensive Player of the Week by the North Central Conference for the week ending Aug. 27.
Reicks, a senior from Bellevue, Neb., averaged 5.09 digs and .36 blocks per game as the Mavericks racked up a 3-0 record, including sweeps over Pittsburg State and William Jewell and a five-game upset over 10th-ranked Central Missouri State.
In addition to her defensive efforts, Reicks recorded two double-doubles on the week with 15 kills and 23 digs against Central Missouri State and 12 kills, 19 digs versus Pittsburg State.
The 24th-ranked Mavericks (3-0) will stay on the road this week when they head to St. Joseph, Mo. to compete in the Missouri Western Ramada Inn Invitational on Fri.-Sat., Sept. 1-2.
