Mavs Travel to No. 22 UNK, Host South Dakota

The 21st-ranked University of Nebraska at Omaha volleyball team (8-5/1-2 NCC) will take a break from conference action when they travel to Kearney, Neb. on Tuesday, Sept. 25 for a 7 p.m. match at No. 22 Nebraska-Kearney (13-3). The Mavericks will then resume league play when they host South Dakota (16-1/1-1 NCC) at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28 in the Sapp Fieldhouse.
The Record
The Mavericks are currently 8-5 overall and 1-2 in the NCC after splitting a pair of matches last week, losing in four games at Northwest Missouri State on Wednesday, before rebounding with a four-game conference victory over St.Cloud State on Saturday.
The Rankings
In the latest CSTV/AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25 poll released on Sept. 24, Nebraska-Omaha was ranked No. 21. Other NCC schools in the top 25 included: Minnesota Duluth (3), Augustana (11), and Minnesota State (16). South Dakota received votes while Nebraska-Kearney is ranked No. 22.
Christensen Reaches 1,000-Kill Mark
With her second kill against Northwest Missouri State on Sept. 19, All-American Carlie Christensen became the 16th player in school history to record 1,000 career kills. The senior from Omaha has now tallied 1,025 kills to date.
