Fort Hays, Emporia Live Stats
The UNO Maverick volleyball team (6-7, 2-1 MIAA) will continue MIAA action this week when they travel to fourth-ranked Washburn on Wednesday, Sept. 24 for a 7 p.m. match in Topeka, Kan. The Mavericks will then host Fort Hays State on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Sapp Fieldhouse and 12th-ranked Emporia State at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
The Record
The Mavericks are currently 6-7 overall and 2-1 in the MIAA after winning two of three conference matches last week. In their first-ever MIAA match, UNO swept Missouri Southern last Wednesday in the Sapp Fieldhouse. The Mavericks then lost in three games at 16th-ranked Pittsburg State on Friday before rebounding with a 3-0 win at Southwest Baptist on Saturday.
Washburn is currently ranked No. 4 in the nation with a 13-1 overall record and a 2-1 mark in the MIAA. The Lady Blues suffered their first loss on the season last Saturday at No. 11 Truman State in five sets. Washburn hosted last year's NCAA II Elite Eight, advancing to the semifinals.
Fort Hays State is 6-5 overall and 1-2 in conference play. The Tigers have lost two straight conference matches at Northwest Missouri State and Truman State after opening MIAA play with a 3-0 win at home over Missouri Western.
Emporia State is ranked No. 12 in the lastest AVCA top 25 poll with a 13-1 overall mark and a 3-0 conference record. The Hornets have won ten-straight matches since suffering their lone loss of the season in the Sapp Fieldhouse against Michigan Tech at UNO's Comfort Inn & Suites/Firewater Grille Tournament on Aug. 30. UNO and ESU both started the season playing in the same three tournaments on consecutive weekends. .

In the CBS College Sports Network/AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25 poll released on Sept. 22, five MIAA opponents were ranked in the top 20, including Washburn (No. 4), Truman State (No. 11), Emporia State (No. 12), Central Missouri (No. 15), and Pittsburg State (No. 17).
