Men’s Soccer Lands Three on Academic All-League Team

OMAHA, Neb. – Ed Gordon, Stevie Siy and Ugo Tritz were named to the 2018 Summit League All-Academic Team, the league office announced Wednesday.
Gordon, who has a 4.0-grade point average (GPA) in Business Administration, appeared in 16 matches with 15 starts this season for the Mavericks as a defensive midfielder. He finished fourth on the team in minutes played (1,210) and averaged 75.2 minutes per outing. Gordon earned First Team CoSIDA Academic All-District honors earlier this month and earned Summit League Academic Honor Roll accolades last year. He is also the lone member of this year's Academic All-League squad with a perfect 4.0.
Siy, who has a 3.81 GPA in Cybersecurity, appeared in 14 matches with 13 starts. He is a two-year starter on defense and has three career assists. Siy earned First Team CoSIDA Academic All-District accolades this season. Last season, he was a part of the Summit League All-Newcomer Team and League Academic Honor Roll.
Tritz, who has a 3.65 GPA in Business Administration, appeared in 13 matches with 11 starts. He finished with a 7-4-1 record with five shutouts. He led the Summit League with a .800 save percentage and finished third in fewest goals allowed (12) and goals-against average (0.93). Tritz is a two-time member of the League Academic Honor Roll and was on the Summit League Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence last year.
To be eligible for the academic all-league team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions.
