SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Omaha's Anna Blaschko was one of six volleyball student-athletes named to the Academic All-Summit team, the league office announced Wednesday.

The sophomore middle blocker from Shakopee, Minn., holds a 3.93 GPA and his majoring in bioinformatics. The honor marks the first of her career, after she was also recognized as an All-Summit Honorable Mention honoree for the 2018 season.

No stranger to success in the classroom, Blaschko also garnered a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District Second Team on Nov. 15. She also was the only volleyball student-athlete to earn CoSIDAÂ Academic All-District honors in the conference.

To be eligible for the Academic All-Summit team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions. The volleyball all-league team is made up of the six student-athletes receiving the most votes with all ties standing.

For the 2018 season, Blaschko started all 29 matches with an average of 2.43 kills per set on .322 hitting and a team-leading 1.00 blocks per set. Her hitting percentage and blocks per set ranked seventh in the league, while she ranked second among league players with 26 solo blocks.
