Women’s soccer secures first road win of 2025

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Omaha women's soccer (2-0-1, 0-0-0 Summit) garnered its second win of the 2025 campaign Thursday in Edwardsville, Ill. with the Mavericks grinding out a 2-1 victory at SIUE.

How It Happened

23 minutes into the Mavericks' third match of the 2025 season, graduate student forward Payten Ivins (West Haven, Utah) slotted in her second goal of the season to give Omaha a 2-1 lead.
Two minutes later, SIUE leveled the tally after an Omaha own goal.
Junior goalkeeper Hayley Ogden (Lehi, Utah) made her second big save of the season in the 33rd minute, making the diving stop to keep the match even at one goal-all.
Omaha regained control in the 61st minute when sophomore forward Charley Kort scored off an assist from Blanche Brethes Vacchiani to put the Mavericks back in front, 2-1.
Omaha controlled possession throughout, finishing with 15 shots and limiting the Cougars to just two shots-on-goal.

Omaha women's soccer continues the road trip on Sunday, Aug. 24 at 2 p.m. CT when the Mavericks face Lindenwood on ESPN+.
