Mav Trio Helps Boost West to Win in Cactus
KINGSVILLE, TEX. -- The West team, featuring three Maverick seniors, scored a 30-27 overtime win over the East in the Cactus Bowl game Friday night. Justin Kammrad, Ryan Krause and Brandon Pinderhughes played in the game, which is staged in order to showcase the outstanding NCAA II and NAIA football players in the nation.
Kammrad, an All-American tailback and finalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy, started for the West. He carried seven times for 21 yards in the game. Krause, voted the outstanding receiver in the North Central Conference, caught passes of 10 and 5 yards and Pinderhughes, an all-NCC defensive back, returned one punt and broke up one pass in the contest.
