Meneely Named NCC Wrestler of the Week
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Junior 149-pounder Todd Meneely has been named the North Central Conference Wrestler of the Week. Meneely went 4-0 in capturing last week's Dana Open title and being named the Outstanding Wrestler of the Meet.
Meneely started the tournament with a 3:18 pin over Jordan Gienger of Nebraska-Kearney before posting a 3-1 win over Brandon Weist of Missouri. He then faced another Tiger when he downed the tournament's #4-seed Ashtin Primus of Missouri by a 23-8 count. He then won the tournament with a 8-4 win over #2-seed and fellow Maverick Esai Dominguez.
The Mavericks, who are currently ranked No. 7 in the lastest NCAA Division II rankings, will compete in the NWCA National Duals on Saturday-Sunday, Jan. 12-13, in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
