Mavericks Add Four to Recruiting Class

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha men's soccer coach Bob Warming announced the addition of four student-athletes on Friday. All four will join six previously announced signees on the Mavericks' roster for the 2018 season.
"I'm excited to have all four players join our program," Warming said. "All of these players give us the kind of student-athlete who will fit well with our current roster and help us compete for a Summit League championship."
Of the four incoming student-athletes, one is Australian, one hails from France and two are from Spain. Two are transfers and two are freshmen. The newcomers will join previously announced signees Adrian Felix, Mitch Hammer, Youde (Junior) Noutoua, Pierce O'Brien, Zach Robbins and David Salazar.
Nil Ayats
MF | 5'7" | 150 | Tardell, Spain (Institut Jaume Callis)
Ayats played within the UE Vilassar organization over the past year in the Spanish Third Division. Before spending the 2016 season with Gimnastic Tarrapona's Under-19 team, he played youth system of RCD Espanyol.
Marcos Bautista
MF | 6'0" | 175 | Albacete, Spain (Green Bay)
A transfer from Green Bay, Bautista will be eligible immediately to play for the Mavericks in the fall as a junior. For his career, he appeared in 34 matches with 20 starts. Bautista totaled two goals and six assists in his two seasons with the Phoenix.
Jeremy Pollard
GK | 6'4" | 190 | Sydney, Australia (Freshwater/Akron/Grand Canyon)
Pollard transfers to Omaha after one year as a member of the Grand Canyon soccer team. Last season, he garnered Honorable Mention All-WAC honors while compiling a 6-8-1 mark with four shutouts and a 1.78 goals-against average for the Lopes.
Martin Veys
MF | 5'7" | 145 | Bretteville Sur Odon, France (Jeanne D'Arc)
Veys played within the Stade Malherbe Caen organization for 11 seasons. He also spent three seasons playing for the Cobourg youth academy for three seasons.
"As a university, UNO has made a commitment to increase the diversity of our campus with more international students," Warming added. "As a result, we're doing the same with our men's soccer team."
Omaha hosts Creighton University for its South Omaha Classic exhibition game this Saturday, Aug. 11, at 7:30 p.m. The Mavericks open the regular season on Friday, Aug. 24, against UC Davis.
