Men's Soccer Returns Home to Face Yale on Thursday Night

OMAHA — The Omaha men's soccer team (2-1-2) returns to the friendly confines of Caniglia Field on Thursday night to face Yale (1-2-0). Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and can be seen on MidcoSportsPlus. The first 250 fans at Caniglia Field will receive a free "Go Mavs" hat. Fans can purchase tickets here. Thursday will mark the first meeting between Omaha and Yale and the first time the Mavs have faced an Ivy League opponent.
Omaha returns home after a two-game road trip out west where it faced Utah Valley and No. 12 UCLA. The Mavs played Utah Valley to a 0-0 draw last Thursday night. Omaha gave No. 12 UCLA all it could handle late Sunday night but ultimately fell 2-1 in Los Angeles. Mikey Stukenholtz got the Mavs on the board in the 44th minute with his second goal of the season.
Yale enters Thursday's match with a 1-2 record, with a win at Army and one-goal losses to Quinnipiac and Penn State.
Everyone has gotten a little piece of the pie so far this season, as seven different Mavs have scored a goal and recorded an assist. Omaha has three different players — Fowlkes, Perkins and Stukenholtz — who have scored two goals this season. Fowlkes and Perkins lead the team with five total points.
Coach Dowling has led an impressive offensive turnaround this season, as the Mavs have already scored 10 goals after scoring just 17 all of last season. Omaha's 10 goals are tied for first among Summit League teams and rank in the top 50 in the country.
