Warming Hosts Second Annual Youth Coaches Clinic

OMAHA, Neb. – The second annual Youth Coaches Clinic hosted by Omaha men's soccer head coach Bob Warming is set for August 3 at 1 p.m. at Caniglia Field.

The clinic features on-field coaching sessions with a reception to follow, allowing the clinicians and coaches to have an opportunity to network and build relationships.

This year's clinicians are nationally known for their experience in coaching and player development. Jason Mims, head coach of Omaha's new USL 1 Professional Soccer franchise, and Creighton men's soccer head coach Johnny Torres join Warming in presenting the on-field sessions and methods.

Warming has won 28 conference championships in his career and is a two-time National Coach of the Year selection. Known for his talent in player development, he is the only coach to have at least one player drafted into Major League Soccer in 21 of the last 22 MSL drafts.

Mims has excelled as a player, youth coach, Division I assistant and head coach and has great insights on talent identification. He helped start Omaha's men's soccer program in 2011 and has won various Coach of the Year accolades.

Torres was a two-time National Player of the Year and completed his 12th season as an assistant coach on the Bluejay coaching staff in 2018 before being named the head coach of the Creighton program on Nov. 12, 2018. Arguably the greatest soccer player in Creighton and Missouri Valley Conference history, Torres played for the Bluejays from 1994-97.
