Maverick Soccer Tickets On Sale Now

OMAHA, Neb. - Season and single-game tickets for the 2013 Omaha men's and women's soccer seasons are on sale now through the UNO Athletic Ticket Office.
The Maverick men will have 11 home games in their third season, including the "South Omaha Classic" exhibition match against 2012 Big Ten regular season co-champion Penn State on Aug. 17 at Omaha South's Collin Stadium. The Maverick women will play 10 home games with an exhibition against Drake on Aug. 15 kicking off the season.
Both soccer teams plan to move into the newly renovated Caniglia Field this season once installation of the new playing surface is completed. An exact date of the first game at the Mavs' new home is not yet known, but weather permitting, the goal is to be in the renovated stadium by the time Summit League play begins - late September for the men and early October for the women. An opening date sooner than that is possible, but hinges on weather allowing construction to occur. Snow and rain throughout the spring into May impacted the amount of work able to be done on the dirt underneath the old surface. Until Caniglia Field is ready for game action, early season home games for both teams will likely be played at the UNO Soccer Field (68th and Spring Streets). Once the new field is ready, all remaining home games for both teams will be played there.
