SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Omaha men's soccer team has been picked to finish third in the Summit League this season, the league office announced Tuesday.
Denver was chosen as the league's favorite with 23 points and three first-place votes while Oral Roberts garnered 21 points and a first-place vote.
The Mavericks placed third with 17 points and two first-place votes, followed by Western Illinois with 13 points. Kansas City finished fifth with 11 points and Eastern Illinois received five points to round out the poll.
Stevie Siy and Nil Ayats were selected to the Summit League's Players to Watch List.
Siy played in all 17 matches last season, making 16 starts. The Omaha native logged 1,404 minutes for the Mavericks in 2019. Ayats appeared in three matches for Omaha in 2019. The Taradell, Spain, native totaled 162 minutes on the year while playing a season-high 65 minutes at Denver.
The Mavericks open the season vs. Denver on Feb. 13 at Caniglia Field.
