Sallah Earns Second TicketSmarter Summit League Defensive Peak Performer of the Week

Omaha, Neb.-- Goalkeeper Nathanael Sallah has been named as the TicketSmarter Summit League Defensive Peak Performer of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.Â
"We're very pleased for Natha in picking up another Defensive Player of the Week honor," said Head Coach Donovan Dowling. "Natha had some critical saves to both keep the game level early, along with preserving the shutout late."
Sallah earns his second weekly award of the season and fourth of this career with his 3-0 shutout over Western Illinois. The keeper faced four huge shots in the first half, and four in the second. With a scoreless first half, the Mavericks were able to keep the momentum rolling into the second, securing the shutout.Â
The seven saves against Western Illinois was a new career high for Sallah. With this being his second shutout, he continues to hold a perfect 1.00 save percentage and 0 goals against, while being faced with 14 shots. With the win, Sallah improved to a 2-0-0 record.Â
Sallah and the Mavericks will travel across town tomorrow to Creighton for a match at 6 p.m.
