Sallah Earns TicketSmarter Summit League Defensive Peak Performer of the Week

Omaha, Neb.-- Goalkeeper Nathanael Sallah has been named as the TicketSmarter Summit League Defensive Peak Performer of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
"Natha was very good in the moments we needed him to be on Saturday," said Head Coach Donovan Dowling. "Not just his saves, but his ability to organize guys in front of him, make good decisions off his line, and take care of the ball when it was at his feet were all very good. It was a very mature performance from him and helped our group tremendously."
Sallah earns his first weekly award of the season and third of his career with his shutout over UT Rio Grande Valley on Saturday. In the opening minutes of the game he made a huge save on a turnover inside the box. The goalkeeper was faced with five shots on goal, making all five saves for a perfect 1.00 save percentage and his first shutout of the season.
Sallah and the Mavericks will travel to Kansas City this weekend to open conference play on Saturday, Sept. 23 for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
