OMAHA – Junior forward Maguire Perkins and senior goalkeeper Kamy Ndione swept the Summit League Peak Performer of the Week awards Tuesday afternoon. It is the first time either Perkins or Ndione has earned Summit League Peak Performer of the Week honors and the first time the Mavericks have swept the weekly awards since Nov. 8, 2021.
Perkins and Ndione have been vital to the Mavericks' turnaround this season, as Omaha has already surpassed last season's win total. Saturday was no different in Omaha's win over UMass, as Perkins put the Mavs ahead in the third minute with a career-high fourth goal of the season. Perkins has scored in two of his last three matches.
Ndione has continued to excel in goal for the Mavs this season, and his stellar play continued Saturday. He recorded six saves en route to his league-leading sixth clean sheet of the season. Ndione has recorded 35 saves this season after totaling 33 last year. He also holds a 1.19 goals-against average, down from 1.90 last season.
The Mavericks return to action Friday when they host Oral Roberts at 7 p.m. at Caniglia Field.
